No posts for a year and a half and now you get 2 on the same day. And this one's a big one.

This is my 2019 mix. Individual tracks from some of my favorite releases. And rather than whittle it down to a dozen so it would be the normal mix size, I said fuck it and let it ride. This is a little over 2 hours of music because why not? I did cut out some of the tracks by artists I figure everyone already has an opinion on (Tool, Thom Yorke), but left in a couple of those because I couldn't imagine a 2019 mix without them (Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross).

And, yeah, there are 2 Lingua Ignota tracks on here, I know. It was very nearly 4. Not only is it album of the year, but probably of the decade, so... listen to it.

There you go. The first new mix in over 4 years. I have enough tracks picked out for another 9-10 of these right now and the plan is to put up one per week.

If you're seeing this for the first time, the idea here is to introduce people to new music. I used to do this on a semi-regular basis back in the days of LiveJournal, and I've kind of missed it ever since.

I generally try to stray from including well known bands in these, but I've decided to play a little looser with that than before. I would assume that artists like Leonard Cohen and Peter Gabriel are actually very well known, but maybe not for that particular song. Or maybe their just well known among the people I expect to look at something like this, but that doesn't mean my cousin knows who they are.

So I'm just going to kind of go with whatever I feel like. if I want to put Stairway To Heaven in a mix, then I will.

Anyway, if you give this or any of the previous mixes a shot, I hope you find something new to like.

The original mix had a non-album version of "Feral Love" by Chelsea Wolfe that was out (unofficially) before the album came out. It sounded mostly the same, but not as polished. I opted to put the album version on here because I think it's better.

Also, the original mix had a track by a band called Murralin Lane that I was unable to locate. Not sure what would have happened, but if I come across it again, I'll add it to a future mix.
